Global Handwashing Day is an annual global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an easy, effective, and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. The Urology Hospital participated in this global event by demonstrating hand washing to children at Kiddie Care Crèche in Pretoria.

Urology Hospital was invited to present at the Transnet in Johannesburg at a Men's Health Day arranged for their staff members. Our doctor presented on STDs, Testicular Cancer and Prostate Cancer.

In a debut coalition, The Urology Hospital sponsored The Unlimited Titans cricket team during their game against The Sunfoil Donlphins on 10 October 2014. The players all wore light blue caps to create awareness of Prostate Cancer and around 3000 spectators received a Prostate Cancer awareness fridge magnet when they entered the Super Sport Park

The Urology Hospital hosted its annual Medics golf day on 8 October 2014 at Pretoria Country Club. This is always a well-attended golf day with 80 medical professionals taking part. Dr Jonathan Broomberg was the guest speaker at the awards dinner in the evening and a great time was had by all.

The Urology Hospital celebrated its 18th birthday on 16 September 2014. All staff and doctors enjoyed a birthday breakfast which was followed by the traditional tree-planting ceremony lead this year by Dr Sias Voss.

On Friday, 5 September 2014, we celebrated Casual Day in conjunction with a Staff Wellness Day. Staff at The Urology Hospital were allowed to wear casual clothing if they bought a R10 Casual Day Sticker which goes to support the Spittskop Special Needs School in Thabazimbi.
