Global Handwashing Day is an annual global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an easy, effective, and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.
The Urology Hospital participated in this global event by demonstrating hand washing to children at Kiddie Care Crèche in Pretoria. Unit Managers, Nursing Staff Members, Students, Admin Staff and Ward Secretaries that were willing to assist attend this event. A video was shown, Hand washing was demonstrated by using paint and then the kids were shown how to wash their hands.
A hand washing dance was performed and the kids participated in the fun. The pictures that they draw for this event were scored and 3 prizes were given to the best artists. Each child received a goodie bag. It was a day full of fun, song, laughter and hopefully…super clean hands.
