CLINICAL FACILITATOR

CLINICAL FACILITATOR

This position reports to the Executive Nursing Manager and will be responsible for the following performance areas:

 

1.Teaching and learning facilitation

  • Implementing continuous skills assessment of all categories nursing staff members (permanent staff as well as agency staff).
  • Facilitate clinical learning processes by applying, understanding, and maintaining current learning methodologies of adults, presentation techniques and course content to ensure that staff acquire skills and competencies and conform to requirements of the employer in addition, it provides an appropriate evaluation of staff member’s progress, thanks to evaluation techniques used.
  • Plan and support the development of knowledge, skills, and abilities of staff members in monitoring progress in relation to performance objectives to identify talents provide timely guidance, advice, and commentary to help strengthen skill area of competence and leverage potential.
  • Focus on quality orientation in all clinical nursing care processes.
  • Understand and apply leverage systems, tools, computer and other technological equipment to facilitate and strengthen the learning process.
  • Transmit information and ideas through a variety of educational strategies in a way that engages staff members and helping them to understand and retain the message.
  • Offer remedial and academic support to staff members in need of it.
  • Develop and control a learning system for staff members.
  • Supervise staff members progress in achieving learning objectives.
  • Develop and implement training plan for all employees.

2. Administration

  • Facilitate staff competencies in line with the Urology hospital’s requirements.
  • Records of staff skills assessments to be submitted for data capturing and afterwards to be filed in portfolios of evidence in their respective wards.

3. Accreditation Activities

  • Implement and maintain health practice standards as expected from SANC according to practice of nursing staff.

4. Personal and Professional Development

  • To be actively involved in own professional development to maintain a certain standard and continue with the necessary knowledge and skills.
  1. Maintain portfolio of CPD activities
  • Attend training and CPD webinars monthly, to be member of one professional society and keep proof of self-development in urology.
  1. Mentoring and coaching of new and existing staff
  • To provide timely guidance to help strengthen the skill areas and to give timely feedback.
  • Macro Orientation
  • Non- nursing staff (two days)
  • Nursing staff (Five days)
  • Guidance and support to new and existing staff when needed.
  1.  Teamwork
  • Actively participate as a member of a team to achieve and reach goals.
  • Take charge of hospital when allocated to do so.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or B.Cur in General Nursing or equivalent NQF7 Qualification.
  • Relevant post-registration qualification
  • Registered with SANC.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Registered Nurse
